Obituary

Esther Cristina Rodriguez, born on August 10, 1951, in Cuba, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife and nurturing mother, and her legacy will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind.

Esther married her beloved husband, Miguel Rodriguez, on October 2, 1977. Together, they embarked on a journey of faith and service, welcoming their first son, Michael, into the world on July 4, 1978, followed by their second son, Kenneth, on July 5, 1979. The couple's commitment to their spiritual calling led them from Miami to San Antonio, where they began a small church plant. Their lives took a tragic turn in January 1982 when they lost their son Michael in a car accident, a heart-wrenching moment that marked Esther profoundly. Despite this grief, she continued to pour her love into her surviving family, later welcoming their third son, Alex, born on March 29, 1983.

Choosing to move to Fort Worth, Esther and Miguel devoted themselves to their ministry, growing a church that began in their living room. Her warm hospitality made every newcomer feel welcomed and loved, and the congregation flourished under their guidance. They pastored for over two decades, a testament to their dedication and service to God and community. Esther's unwavering support for Miguel's leadership, including his role later as Apostle Director, exemplified her strength and devotion.

Esther is survived by her husband, Miguel Rodriguez; her sons, Kenneth and Alex Rodriguez; grandchildren Kenneth Rodriguez Jr. and Kimberly Rodriguez; sister Maria Alpizar; and nieces and nephew, Andresito, Iris, and Odalys Mondejar and their children Andrew and Michael Mondejar and Eduardo Pedregal. Known affectionately as Tete, she was an avid reader who instilled a love for books in her sons, often seen with a book in hand as she balanced the responsibilities of home life.

Burial services will be held on May 12, 2026. The family invites all who knew and loved Esther to join them in celebrating her life and the profound impact she had on everyone around her.

Esther was preceded in death by: her father Alberto Mondejar, mother Filomena Mondejar, son Michael Rodriguez, sister Sara Mondejar, and brother Daniel Mondejar.
