Robert "Bobby" Hunderup
1931 - 2024
Robert O. Hunderup was born on October 7, 1931, in Portland, Oregon, to Herman and Mary Hunderup. He peacefully departed this world on January 9, 2024. Robert spent his formative years on a dairy farm in Haltom City, shaping the strong foundation of his character. A dedicated patriot, Robert served in the U.S. Air Force, exemplifying his commitment to his country. Post-military service, he embarked on a different journey, working in construction before becoming the proud owner of "Bob's BBQ" in Round Rock, where he delighted patrons with his culinary skills for over a decade before embracing a well-deserved retirement. Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert found joy in the greens, pursuing his passion for golf with enthusiasm. Yet, his greatest source of happiness was his family. Renowned as the greatest dad, papa, and great-grandfather on the planet, Robert's love knew no bounds. His unconditional love resonated within the family, creating a bond that will endure through generations. In celebrating the life of Robert O. Hunderup, we honor a man whose legacy is etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration during this difficult time.
He has been reunited with his parents in God's Eternal Kingdom.
Robert will be deeply and lovingly missed by his former wife, Joy Ann Walker; son, Robert "Todd" Hunderup; granddaughters, Aubrey Shipwash and husband, Ryan, Tonya Hunderup, and Amy Frank and husband, Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
