Stephen George Snider, born on December 16, 1946, in Waurika, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. A talented athlete and devoted sports enthusiast, Steve excelled in football, baseball, basketball, and track during his younger years. He proudly continued his athletic journey at the University of Oklahoma, where he played football.

A passionate and avid golfer, Steve found joy on the green, often sharing the experience with family and lifelong friends. His love for sports extended beyond his playing days; he was an ardent supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners, especially the OU Softball team, cheering them on with relentless enthusiasm. Steve's zest for life and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on those around him. He found great joy in making those around him laugh and playing pranks on those family and friends he cherished.

A dog-lover at heart, Steve was a proud dog dad to many furry friends throughout the years, especially his most recent rescue dog Sandy. Another passion of his was making homemade fudge and dill pickles that he loved gifting to friends and family. It was a special treat to receive one of Steve's "care" packages. He was also very active in supporting and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.

Steve is survived by his beloved nephews, Joshua Terrell and Jonathan Stone, who cherish the memories of their uncle and his profound impact on their lives. He is also survived by his cousins, great-nieces and nephew, and many friends whom he loved like family. His legacy will live on through the stories and moments shared by family and friends, celebrating a life well-lived and full of passion.

In honor of Stephen's life, a gathering will be held at Waurika First United Methodist Church in Waurika, OK on April 25th at 1:00, where all who knew and loved him can come together to reminisce and celebrate the joy he brought into their lives. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he left behind.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents George Brown (Brick) Snider and Mary Lacy Snider and his sister Marsha Stone.
