Charles "Chuck" Franklin Jones

1943 - 2023

Charles Franklin Jones, born on November 11th, 1943, and left his earthly home on September 11th, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children. Chuck was born to Barney Franklin Jones and Elsie Lena Jones in Marshall, Texas. The Jones family moved to Euless, Texas where Chuck attended LD Bell high school before joining the navy after his freshman year of high school. Chuck served his country in Korea before sustaining an injury resulting in a medical discharge. After he was medically discharged, he welcomed his first-born son, Darren in 1966 and 4 years later, in 1970, his first daughter Heather was born. Chuck reenlisted in the army and served our country again in Vietnam. Upon Chuck’s return from Vietnam, he met and married Charlene Hoover. Chuck embraced Charlene’s 3-year-old twin boys Keith and Kevin. In 1980, Chuck welcomed his daughter April. The Jones family resided in Joshua, Texas. In 1980, Chuck came to know the Lord as his Savior at Worth Baptist Church. He found great joy in serving the Lord through his church and raising his family in the church. Chuck lost his wife, Charlene, in 2009. In 2015 Chuck married Sylvia Rodriguez on Valentine’s Day. Chuck spent his later years traveling and enjoying life to the fullest with his love, Sylvia.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Elsie Jones, his sister, Betty Grimes.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Jones of Watauga, Texas, his brother, Jerry Jones and wife Judy of Arlington, Texas, his son, Darren Jones and wife Dori of Sachse, Texas, his daughter, Heather Degreif and husband Chad of Lewisville, Texas, his son, Kevin Nettleton of Austin, Texas, his son, Keith Nettleton, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and his daughter, April Thrasher and husband Matt of Keller, Texas, 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Logan, Parker, Jackson, Jake, Morgan, Emma, and Gracie, and a host of extended family and friends.  

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 PM at Roberts - Martinez Funeral Home.
