Shallum Jarius Bluford, a beloved son, brother and father, passed away on May 31, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born on July 29, 1981, in Williamsburg, Virginia, Shallum was the son of David Edgar Bluford and Dolores Christine Sutherlin Bluford, who survive him.

Shallum was a loving father to his children, Andrew Asbury and Tatyana Asbury, who were the center of his world. He shared a special bond with them, guiding them with wisdom and showering them with affection. His love for them was immeasurable and will forever remain in their hearts.

In addition to his children, Shallum is survived by his brother, Canaan Bluford, and his wife, Lucky, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His presence brought joy and laughter to their lives. Shallum's nephew, Deante Bluford, and nephew Quazian Walker also mourn his loss, cherishing the memories they created together.

Shallum's love extended to his extended family, including his aunt, Maxine White, and uncle, Warren Sutherlin. He shared a deep bond with his cousin, Faye Patterson, and her husband, Danny, who will always remember Shallum's infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature. Many other cousins and extended family members also join in mourning the loss of this remarkable individual.

Shallum had a vibrant personality that touched the lives of those around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought smiles to the faces of everyone he met. His love for R&B soul music was infectious, and he would often share his favorite songs with those around him, spreading joy through the power of music.

Cooking was one of Shallum's passions, and he delighted in preparing delicious meals for his loved ones. He would pour his heart and soul into his culinary creations, always ensuring that his dishes were made with love. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple meal at home, Shallum's cooking brought people together and created lasting memories.

Sports held a special place in Shallum's heart, and he was an avid fan, particularly of the Carolina Panthers.
