Obituary

In Loving Memory of William Clyde McNutt

1954 - 2023

William Clyde McNutt was born on January 11, 1954, to loving parents William Clyde and Nelda Beth McNutt. He peacefully passed on September 11, 2023. His family called him “Bill”. Because of diabetes, Bill struggled with serious vision and health problems throughout his life, but he never complained. If you asked him how he was doing, his answer was always “Great!”. He was always positive.

Bill was a devout Christian throughout his life. He repaid God’s love with humility and strength. He carried his faith with unwavering dedication. He was a role model of those virtues for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had enormous love for his family, especially his wife Lisa and his children, Kristen and Tray.

After Bill graduated from Anadarko High School, he attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, OK, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. He further went on to study culinary arts and spent most of his working life as a chef for various restaurants and hotels in Oklahoma and Texas. He also worked in the oil and gas industry with his father Clyde and Uncle Clifford around Seminole, Elk City and Clinton, OK. He also owned and ran the Budget Inn hotel in Clinton, OK, for many years. It was during his years as a hotel owner in Clinton, OK, that he met and married Lisa and they started their family. The last 20 years of Bill’s life, he worked and lived with his family in Ft. Worth, TX.

Bill had a passion for technology and computer games. He loved immersing himself in the virtual world and found a great deal of challenge in solving digital problems. Bill’s passion for technology was a testament to his open-mindedness and creative spirit.

Bill inherited from his father a love for Oklahoma Sooners football. Whether watching from home with friends and family or cheering from the stadium, Bill’s love for football was infectious. Many of Bill’s memories stem from the times he spent with  friends and family watching Sooner football.

Bill leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength, humility and love—love for his many family members many who, sadly, preceded him in death; but for many who still live on and carry his memory and love with them.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa McNutt; his father, William Clyde McNutt; his mother Nelda Beth McMaster; and his stepfather, Don McMaster. Bill also lost three uncles and four aunts, along with their spouses. He was especially close to his uncle, Clifford McNutt, his father’s brother. Bill is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Hettie McNutt and John and Mary Marler.

Bill is survived by his loving children, Kristen and Tray McNutt of Ft. Worth, TX, (who meant everything to him); his sister, Clynell Reinschmiedt of Edmond, OK; and his two half-brothers, Shawn and Shane McMaster of Clinton, OK. Bill deeply missed his nieces and nephews and will be well remembered as a great uncle. His nieces include Jesse Simunek, Stormie McMaster, Brittany McMaster and Harley McMaster. His nephews are Luke Hibbs and Gabe Hibbs. Bill is also survived by many cousins who have many cherished memories of him.
